ReduzCO₂ is a reforestation initiative supported by Ecotara Inversiones
SAS, a company that has been lovingly and committedly caring for the land for over a decade. Our goal is to restore the tropical dry forest in Colombia, one of the world’s most threatened and least known ecosystems, through the planting of native and fruit trees.

This project was born from a deep desire to leave a positive mark on the
planet. I am a woman who grew up loving nature. As a child, my memories are filled with simple yet powerful experiences: milking cows with my grandfather while watching the snow capped mountains peek through the morning mist, picking fruit he saved for us in the trees, walking through jungles along the Magdalena River where monkeys watched us from the treetops, smelling the fresh green of the forest. That love for the land never faded—it is rooted in me.

Years later, I had the opportunity to acquire a piece of land with one
purpose: to reforest it and bring it back to life. Since then, together with a
small team that has grown with the project, we’ve planted thousands of native and fruit trees. What was once dry pasture is now green space, shady, biodiverse, and fresh, even amid temperatures exceeding 40 °C (104 °F).

Now more than ever, protecting the earth is urgent. Many neighboring
farms are being parceled off to build country homes, clearing trees and
fragmenting ecosystems. As the natural landscape is replaced by concrete, we chose a different path: to plant life, not bricks. We believe that development can also be regenerative, and that caring for the earth is a powerful way to resist environmental collapse.
